Farm & Barn History:

The farm has been in the family over 40 years.  It was bought by Tom and Jane in 1969, bringing their farming roots from Indiana to New Jersey.  For over forty years three generations of the Brodhecker family have been a part of the agriculture community in Sussex County New Jersey.  The original barn ("the Old Red & Blue) was built prior to 1900 and is being refurbished.  The new barn was built in 2007.

Over the past several years they have been planning and implementing farm practices to go easy on the earth.  The most visible example is the solar panels installed on two of the barns.  This generates 100% of the electricity they use during the year - 430 solar electric panels will add to the farm's harvest.  The solar arrays sit atop two of the farm's buildings producing energy in quantities sufficient to meet the farm's needs, and give back to the community.

Brodhecker Farm in Hampton is recognized by many as a state licensed manufacturer of quality livestock feed and distributor of farm equipment and supplies.  Exploring innovations and technologies which facilitate "greener" operations, has become part of the overall management plan, which addresses productivity, profitability and progress.  Brodhecker Farm has taken a leadership role in embracing technology that improvesthe environment.

Another interesting product is the hay/straw figures  shown in the pictures above.
