| New and Exciting Projects: |
Nancy Harris, a school teacher and resident of Sussex County had noticed painted quilt blocks going up on some of the barns she passed on her way to and from work each day. She saw an article in the NJ Herald and checked out the website for the NJ Barn Quilt project.
She was so inspired by the mission and vision of celebrating NJ's agricultural history that she was inspired to write a grant to her local PTA to model a similar project for her students. Her 8th grade gifted and talented students at Jefferson Township Middle School used the Barn Quilt model to do their community service project this year at the New Jersey School of Conservation.
Congratulations to Ms. Harris and her students for a job well done - and another addition to the NJ Quilt Trail! Additionally, Ms. Suzi Parron has included the student's project in her soon-to-be-published book about barn quilts across the country!
