Quilt: WINDMILL QUILT BLOCK
The New Jersey Museum of Agriculture quilt was mounted to the Museum building in June 2009. Below are some of the pictures of the quilt going up.
See information below the pictures that explain the significance of the Windmill Quilt block being chosen for the NJMA Quilt block.

The Windmill Quilt Block pattern was chosen in honor of the Van Zandt Family, who donated the windmill in memory of J. Percy Van Zandt (1895-1987). The windmill originally pumped water for the dairy/poultry family farm at Broad View Farm, Blawenburg (Somerset Co.), NJ.

As with any project, nothing gets done without major coordinating, gathering and VOLUNTEER support!
MANY THANKS to Audrey, Tom and Michael Planer for their many hours dedicated to construction, painting and mounting of our first NJ Barn Quilt!
Thanks also to the staff and Board of the NJ Museum of Agriculture for their ongoing support, and to Lou Luczu for his help in mounting the quilt block.
